Boom! Even the tiniest worlds can hold the greatest surprises! What happens when we shift our perspective when seeing the world?

“Mini Boom!” is a collaborative exhibition with the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan, featuring a curated selection from their miniature collection alongside works by five artists. Together, they invite us to reimagine art and life through the lens of the miniature. To us, “miniature” doesn’t mean “small” or “limitation;” instead, it opens expanded ways of seeing and offers new entry points for understanding and engaging with the world.

The exhibition begins with “Telling You a Story” as its prologue, opening a rich journey through the miniature world.

In “Whose Home Is This?”, children are guided through the history of miniature culture, beginning with dollhouses and embarking on a journey through changing domestic spaces and shifting social landscapes. “A Different World” expands the view from the home to the street, where shopfronts from various eras and cultures reflect different facets of everyday life. Here, children are invited to step into the “Marketplace”, exploring the aesthetics of daily life through hands-on discovery and play. Next comes “Shhh... Open the Box of Wonders”, where children delve into the whimsical world of miniature styles and collecting culture, from observing and assembling tiny objects to experiencing sensory inversions through large-scale artworks. This section invites children to travel between scales, from the minuscule to the monumental, while reimagining and remixing various artistic styles.

Finally, the exhibition turns its gaze inward, back to the relationship between us and the world. Children are invited to imagine the body shrinking, stretching, morphing, or even extending infinitely, stepping into a realm where the virtual and the real blend together, and embarking on an open-ended journey through the boundless interplay between objects and the self.
