2025橫山書藝雙年展｜書法的邊界與回返：專業、日常與跨域書寫國際論壇

Travel is not simply moving from one place to another. It is an exploratory journey that awakens the senses, emotions, and imagination. Each departure is a temporary step away from the rhythm of everyday life, and an opportunity to rediscover the world. Through walking, observing, and experiencing, we accumulate memories along the way and gradually grow and discover new aspects of ourselves within ever-changing landscapes. For children, the independence to make decisions and the new discoveries during a journey form an important fragment of self-awareness. Centered on the theme of “journey,” this exhibition invites travelers of all ages to enter the exhibition space with curiosity and begin a grand journey of your own through the artists’ perspectives:

<li>First Stop: Freedom and Experimentation at Departure</li>
</ul>
How would you like to begin your journey? Through the interactive installations by Musquiqui Chihying and Rintaro Hara + Yu Hara, children are invited to practice their “autonomy” of movement. Here, you can boldly choose your own path and begin building meaningful memories of your journey.

<li>Second Stop: Curiosity and Discovery Along the Way</li>
</ul>
What secrets are hidden within the landscape? In addition to listening to soundscapes translated by Uni Percussion, you are invited to travel across time and space, viewing Taoyuan landscapes from a century ago through the paintings of Chiu Chuang-Chien, and comparing them with modern scenes captured through the lens of Xiao Qi-Heng, discovering different ways of seeing the world.

<li>Third Stop: Encounters, Sharing, and Connection</li>
</ul>
The most beautiful scenery in any journey is often the people. In the works of Crystallize Object and Yin Zi-Jie, spaces are created for sharing emotions. You can greet others through body language or drop a letter into a mailbox, learning to understand others through warm interaction.
Designed with game-based exploratory elements, the exhibition invites young travelers to enter the display space and complete travel missions using observation, sensory awareness, and imagination, gradually building their own journey narrative through participation. Here, children are free to explore the unknown and make their own choices, and each choice becomes a precious and unique lived experience.

旅行，不只是從一個地方移動到另一個地方，更是一段打開感官、情感與想像力的探索歷程。每一次出發，都是暫時離開日常節奏、重新感受世界的練習。透過行走、觀看與體驗，我們在旅途中累積記憶，也在不斷變化的風景中，逐漸成長並發現新的自己。旅途中的自主決定與新奇發現，是孩子構成自我認知的重要片段。本次展覽以「旅程」為主題，邀請大小旅人們帶著好奇心走進展區，透過藝術家的眼睛，展開屬於你的大旅程：

想用什麼方式開啟旅程呢？透過致穎與原倫太郎＋原游的互動裝置，邀請孩子練習掌握移動的「自主權」。在這裡，你可以大膽選擇路徑，開啟一段深刻的旅程記憶 。

風景裡藏著哪些祕密？除了聆聽不二擊聲音製造所轉譯的聲響，我們更邀請你穿越時空，欣賞畫家邱創乾筆下的百年前桃園風景，對照蕭其珩鏡頭下的現代光景，發現觀看世界的不同方式。

</ul>
旅程中最美的風景往往是「人」。在鹽池工作室與尹子潔的創作中，我們營造了分享感受的契機。你可以透過肢體語言與人打招呼，或在郵筒投遞一封信件，學習在溫暖的互動中同理他人。
展覽融入遊戲式的探索設計，邀請小小旅人一同走進展區，運用觀察力、感受力與想像力完成旅行任務，在參與中逐步展開屬於自己的旅程敘事。在這裡，孩子可以自由探索未知、做出選擇，而每一次選擇，都將轉化為一段珍貴而獨特的親身經驗。

桃園市兒童美術館

This year’s Hengshan Calligraphy Biennale begins by reflecting on the contemporary tendency to view calligraphy mainly as a visual or formal art. Instead, it returns to the essence of calligraphy as an act of writing, and reexamines its many dimensions between daily life and artistic creation. By weaving together both “professional” and “non-professional” practices, the exhibition moves beyond technique- or style-based appreciation, inviting visitors to understand how calligraphy continues to grow, spread, and sustain its vitality across different contexts.
Through a dialogue between past and present, the exhibition features works ranging from Wang Duo of the Ming dynasty, to Edo-period Japanese monks Hakuin Ekaku, Ryōkan, and Sengai Gibon, and extending to contemporary calligraphers, literati, artists, thinkers, writers, designers, and social advocates. The works span many forms—from traditional hanging scrolls, handscrolls, letters, and poetry drafts, to cross-disciplinary collaborations such as modern dance and film posters, and even calligraphy used as a medium for public engagement—revealing the diverse possibilities of calligraphy today.
More than an exhibition, this Biennale is a cultural experiment. By placing professional and non-professional works, art and everyday writing, the classical and the contemporary side by side, it opens a space to reflect on the many possibilities of writing, and on calligraphy as a profound expression of being human.

Parallel Exhibitions
This year’s Hengshan Calligraphy Biennale explores the many possibilities of calligraphy and its connections to local culture. In collaboration with several art spaces in Taoyuan—including Living Lab Gallery, A. HERITAGE, Yin Art Space, and 2 Gather—the Biennale presents a series of Parallel Exhibitions. Through calligraphy, these shows aim to link everyday life with contemporary thought, cross-disciplinary dialogues, and international perspectives, highlighting Taoyuan’s unique artistic landscape.

The 2nd Hengshan Calligraphy Biennale: Calligraphy in Movement: From Literati’s Desk to People’s Streets

本屆橫山書藝雙年展從反思書法在當代被過度視覺化與形式化的趨勢切入，回到書法作為書寫行動的本質，重新檢視其在生活與藝術之間的多重面向。展覽以「專業」及「非專業」書法兩條軸線交織並進，跳脫技法與風格的單一鑑賞路徑，企圖用更開放的角度，理解書法如何在不同脈絡中持續發展、擴散並延續其生命力。
運用古今對照，展覽作品時代最早上溯至明代的王鐸，以及日本江戶時代的白隱慧鶴、良寬、仙厓義梵等僧人，一直到當代之間的書法家、文人、藝術家、思想家、作家、設計師和社會議題的提倡者等。作品形式從傳統的立軸、手卷、文人書信尺牘、詩稿，以及現代舞蹈、電影海報等跨界合作的實績，乃至於公共議題的倡導媒介，用書法的多重面貌，呈現書法在當代的多種可能。
這場展覽，更是一次文化實驗，讓書法的專業與非專業、藝術與生活、古典與當代並陳，藉由書寫的萬千可能，提供一個思考「書寫作為人之表現」的契機。
