2022 Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center Exhibition Application Requirements

 

I. Objective
The Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts (TMoFA) aims to promote the diverse, open, and innovative development of calligraphy art with the Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center (HCAC) as an exhibition platform.
II. Eligibility
(I) Calligraphy artists with ROC (Taiwan) nationality or ROC (Taiwan) Resident Certificate. Solo exhibition and joint exhibition are both applicable.
(II) Government agencies, joint school club exhibitions, and graduation exhibitions are not eligible.
III. In principle, one or two applications will be accepted.
IV. Application Date and Results Announcement Date
(I) The application period starts on March 14, 2022, and ends on March 31, 2022. Applications must be made online.
(II) To apply, please visit the webpage on the official website of the TMoFA [Open Call>Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center Exhibition Application].
(III) The application results will be announced on the official website of the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts before the end of April 2022.

1. For an application for a solo exhibition, please send at least 10 pieces of artwork for review. The works shown at the exhibition must be reviewed pieces. Applicants must receive permission from the TMoFA before making any changes or adjustments.
2. For an application for a joint exhibition, please send at least 20 pieces of artwork for review and enclose the exhibitor roaster. Every exhibitor must send at least 1 piece of artwork for review. The works shown at the exhibition must be reviewed pieces; Applicants must receive permission from the TMoFA before making any changes or adjustments.

VI. Review Method
After the qualification check, the TMoFA will invite 5 to 7 specialists to form a judging panel to review the artworks.
VII. Exhibition Venues and Expected Exhibition Date
(I) Exhibition venues:
Exhibition rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors of building C of the HCAC. Exhibition floor plans and photos are as attached. The TMoFA reserves the right to change the location of the exhibition venues.
(II) Expected exhibition date:
The exhibition date will be set during 2022 based on the coordination of space and properties of the exhibition. The duration of the exhibition is 6 to 8 weeks in principle, and the TMoFA may rearrange the exhibition dates if necessary.
VIII. Exhibition Funds:
(I) The exhibition funds provided by the TMoFA will be a maximum of NT$200,000 (tax included).The exhibition funds will be proposed and confirmed by the judging panel and approved by the TMoFA.
(II) The exhibition funds will be spent on exhibition equipment, the setting up and dismantlement of the exhibition, restoring the exhibition venue to its original state, transportation of artwork, and insurance.
(III) The key visuals, invitation cards, and catalog of the exhibition will be designed and made by the TMoFA.
(IV) If the exhibition expenditure exceeds the budget, the additional funds will be raised by the applicants.
(V) The related matters regarding the exhibition funds will be processed in accordance with the regulations of the Government Procurement Act.
IX. Supplementary Provisions
(I) Applicants are assumed to have accepted the terms of the application requirements.
(II) The content of the exhibition shall not involve plagiarism or theft, nor violate copyright-related laws. The TMoFA has the right to revoke the eligibility of applicants if they become involved in copyright infringement or other legal litigation and the offense is confirmed by the judging panel or a guilty verdict. The applicant will be held responsible for any damage to the rights of the third party, and the TMoFA will not be responsible. The TMoFA also reserves the right to pursue legal action if the TMoFA incurs reputational damage due to the words or actions of an applicant.
(III) The applicant of the selected proposal shall sign a contract with the TMoFA to regulate the rights and obligations of both parties.
(IV) If there are matters that are not addressed herein, the TMoFA may announce them after revising the application requirements.
