This high-ceilinged gallery is dedicated to large-scale calligraphic works that command a strong visual presence. For the artist, writing calligraphy is a dialogue with the self. As the scale of the work expands, the work is no longer just the hand’s movement, but becomes the movement and breathing of the whole body on the paper. In these moments, the work becomes a kind of personal performance. Yi Chun seems to hide behind her works, leaving a shadow.
