02.第二展區「一日又一日」 Day After Day

Transcript
Writing is like gathering specks of light from memory, recording those heart-stirring moments of life.
Centered around “lessons my cat taught me,” this section invites viewers into healing moments with the artist’s cat. Here, the strokes of the phrase “hide and seek” (躲貓貓) are taken apart and rendered on fragile glass as deconstructed character components. Viewers are invited to encounter fragments of everyday life refracted through the traces of writing. As you move and the light shifts, the characters gradually come into view.
The sound of her cat Taro is one of the most intimate presences in her daily life. Since 2025, Yi Chun has embarked on a 365-day writing project, inscribing a single character “meow” (喵) each day. The surface for writing varies from day to day, taking the form of whatever happens to be at hand, whether a coffee bean bag, a business card, a receipt, or a scrap of paper. Like a diary, each piece preserves the scent and emotions of that day.
Day after day, subtle changes emerge through repetition, leading her to realize that her creative practice grows from everyday life.
