Every day for one full year, the artist Shih Chun-chi quietly copied a short passage from the Bible by hand. He used A4-sized rice paper and a simple, rough style of regular script — somewhat like the Japanese monk Ryōkan. For Shih, this daily act was more than calligraphy. It was a prayer, a moment of stillness in the middle of a noisy world. This exhibition displays all 365 sheets together, forming a kind of spiritual calendar —a record of patience, devotion, and faith written one day at a time. Like performance artist Teh-ching Hsieh, who used his own body to measure time, Shih measures time through ink and repetition. Each stroke becomes a quiet breath. Through this steady rhythm, he shows that even in modern life, it’s still possible to find peace — one line, one day, one prayer at a time.
