Amidst the diverse artistic mediums and varied forms of presentation nowadays, Taoyuan Contemporary Art Award is tasked with the mission to guide the trend of the contemporary art. It offers art workers a platform for liberal innovations and experiments, setting no limit in order to encourage artists of various nationalities and generations to think outside of the box, utilize their keen observations on social pulses, and express the respective reflections as well as criticisms on social phenomena via works, so as to inspire the infinite possibilities of the contemporary art.
Taoyuan Contemporary Art Award this year has received 543 entries from the U.S., U.K., South Africa, Korea, Malaysia and China for the awards and the NT$ 300,000 prize. The 32 entries picked in the preliminary selection shall be exhibited at Taoyuan Arts Center from April 23 to May 12. Citizens are welcome to appreciate these outstanding artists and their contemporary ideas.
